Yacht Survey

When purchasing a second hand vessel it is advised to appoint an independent professional surveyor to act on the purchasers behalf. Usually a survey consists of two major written survey reports, namely a hull survey and sea trial survey. During the process of sale, it is very common to have the vessel surveyed before acceptance, to eliminate or indeed identify any potential material or non-material defects. Upon providing the survey report, the purchaser usually has a limited amount of time to accept, renegotiate or reject the vessel with reference to the survey report. This is however dependant on certain factors such as the conditions incorporated in the sale and purchase agreement.

Although us, acting as your broker, can give our professional opinion and guide you to the correct vessel to match your particular requirements, it is in our interest and indeed the purchasers interest to appoint an independent, non-bias surveyor to provide a professional indemnified report for the vessel. As a broker, we can provide a list of accredited surveyors in which the purchaser can choose. The surveyors we can provide can relate to the location and type of vessel etc.

To obtain more information about surveyors and provide information and quotes from surveyors in your area, please do not hesitate to fill in the request form and we will be in touch shortly.
